About The Artist
In a small village in Malawi, the dirt-covered earth glistens under the beaming rays of an African sun, fabrics of vivid hues swirl through the hot dense air, barely concealing the raven-colored skin of untroubled playing children. A girl with cerulean eyes finds her place behind the viewfinder of a simple digital camera, framing her muses with such ease and expertise that it can only be explained by providence, and presses the shutter. This is the moment – the summer – that reconnects Paulina to her 5-year-old self, a spirited and developing young artist inexplicably drawn to an apparatus that freezes time.
Paulina has always been surrounded by art and the creative – whether it’s man’s work or nature’s. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she is familiar with the pressures of living in a city that prides itself in beautiful people, creative talent and an entrepreneurial spirit. Having also spent a portion of her life in a small town in Poland – where endless fields of untouched grass, dirt paths, abandoned train tracks are the norm, and people live without the pressures of time – Paulina has found the perfect balance of both worlds in her life and work. She is driven, yet remains learnedly compassionate and intuitive – especially towards the relationship between her subjects and the world around them. She has the ability to elicit and express the deepest of passions in her subjects’ hearts, whether through the eyes, hands, feet or nature’s other gifts. For Paulina, beauty is in everything, stories are told everywhere, and every second is a moment worthy of sharing. It is this deep connection to and profound understanding of her subjects that she brings to light in her commercial photographic work.
